A really cool wiki page I found on Reading that will be of interest to you: Wikireadia is a:
searchable and editable online encyclopaedia of good practice in reading. As reading is a huge field the number of articles and topics is potentially huge and this is a chance to gather together and share good practice in reading for all audiences (whether that is young children, adult learners, readers in the workplace or setting up a library the list is almost endless).
Reading Strategies Using Young Adult Literature
Teachers will read and report on at least 10 books from current young adult literature titles. Titles may be chosen by themes selected by instructor or from current standard recommended lists. Teachers will be seeking to find and read titles which supplement the classroom teaching of high yield strategies such as inference, cause and effect, author’s purpose, theme, and summarizing for comprehension. Teachers enrolled in the class will offer substantial discussion of their chosen titles online on a wiki, accompanied by lesson plan ideas featuring the appropriate high yield strategy and grade level recommendations. Comments will be expected to be substantive and reflective.
